Why buy it?

This is the box to pick when you want the most headroom Formuler offers. Its Realtek RTD1319C quad-core processor is paired with 4 GB of RAM, so the interface stays responsive while a 4K HDR stream plays and a recording runs in the background. Storage is 128 GB — enough for a large app library and hours of recorded TV — and a microSD slot lets you add more. Video output reaches 4K at 60 frames per second with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, with Dolby Atmos passed to your sound system over HDMI. For the network you get tri-band Wi-Fi 6E alongside Gigabit Ethernet, and Bluetooth 5.2 handles the remote and other wireless accessories. The operating system is Android 12. The Z12 Ultra supports MYTVOnline 4 through Formuler’s official software update; an older unit may need updating. The app supplies the guide, catch-up, timeshift and recording functions for compatible content sources.

What is the difference between the Z12 Ultra and Z12 Ultra SE?

The Z12 Ultra on this page has 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The Z12 Ultra SE has 2 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. Both support Dolby Vision, Wi-Fi 6E and the backlit GTV-BT3 remote. Choose based on the memory and storage your apps and recordings need; extra capacity alone does not guarantee a speed improvement in every task.

Does it include channels or programming?

No channels or programming are included — the box is hardware only. You add the streaming apps of your choice, and the MYTVOnline 4 app then handles the live-TV guide, catch-up, recording and timeshift.

Which remote is in the box, and how do I pair it?

It ships with the GTV-BT3, a backlit Bluetooth and infrared voice remote. To pair it, hold OK and MENU together until the LED blinks white, then go to Settings > Bluetooth Remotes & Accessories > Pair Accessory. TV power and volume control is set up in the Formuler Remote app under Setup TV IR Control. Need a spare? The Formuler GTV-BT3 Bluetooth Voice Remote is sold separately.

Does it support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos?

Yes. The box decodes 4K at 60 frames per second with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, and hands Dolby Atmos to a compatible soundbar or AV receiver through the HDMI port. There is also an optical audio output for older audio equipment. Your TV and sound system need to support these formats to benefit from them.

What is in the box?

The media receiver, the GTV-BT3 backlit voice remote with silicone cover and batteries, a power adapter, a TV (HDMI) cable and a quick setup guide.
